The Farm.

Set on just under 80 acres of rolling hills and natural bush land, Deep Creek is the perfect base for exploring the nearby towns of Bright, Porepunkah and Harrietville or heading up to the alpine peaks of Mt. Hotham, Falls Creek or Mt. Buffalo. If downtime is what you are after, simply soak up the tranquillity of the farm, read a book, enjoy a glass of local wine or watch the cattle, sheep, chickens and miniature donkeys. The donkeys and sheep love a visit from our guests, especially with offerings of a carrot or two and they are naturally photogenic.

Deep Creek is three and a half hour's drive from Melbourne, minutes from the beautiful township of Bright and a short drive to the snowfields of Mt. Hotham, Falls Creek and Mt. Buffalo.

The animals.

The farm superstars are Saddler, Rosie and Baby Honey the miniature donkeys. Due to their celebrity status we decided to name the accommodation ‘Saddler’s Stay’ and ‘Rosie’s Rest’. They will hee haw for a carrot and also love a pat and a brush.

In the paddocks neighbouring the accommodation you will also see sheep, cows and chickens. The sheep are placid and if approached quietly some enjoy a scratch and an offering of apples.

The farmstay.

Named after our miniature donkeys Saddler and Rosie we present to you ‘Saddler’s Stay’ and ‘Rosie’s Rest’. Saddler’s Stay has two bedrooms, sleeping 6 people and Rosie’s Rest has a master bedroom and separate custom built in bunkbeds, sleeping 4 people. Both have well-appointed kitchen, lounge, single bathroom and outdoor areas.

Sit out on the deck and savour the breathtaking views of Mt. Buffalo, Mt. Feathertop and Mt. Hotham, or cosy up on the lounge in front of the wood fire and enjoy the picture-framed views through the expansive windows.

Our Story

Owners of Deep Creek Bright, Tandi and Sam have called the Ovens Valley home for the past 13 years. They have raised their 5 children in Bright and have strong local community connections. Tandi was born in Cape Town and they met whilst travelling Europe. Sam was born and raised in nearby Beechworth and has spent the majority of his life in the North East.

4 years ago Tandi and Sam decided to follow their dream and purchased the farm ‘Deep Creek’. The whole family fell in love with life on the land and the rejuvenating energies that are drawn from the nature of the location.

Surrounded by domestic and farm animals and the spectacular views across the Ovens Valley to Alpine peaks, Tandi and Sam wanted to share these experiences with others and the dream of Deep Creek farm stay was born.
